Andrea + Kane // Medalta Potteries Wedding
We can’t wait to tell you all about this gorgeous Medalta Potteries Wedding. But first, a little update:
Mike and I are currently out of the country on a vacation with my family. We are happy to report that there were no hurricanes this time around + we have been having the most wonderful time relaxing with my family.
It has been a long process to prep this blog with slow, unreliable wifi and 5 nieces + nephews who would prefer I play with them rather than sit on my laptop.
But this wedding is one I could not wait until next week to share. Andrea + Kane are two of the loveliest people we know. He's a lawyer + she's a graphic designer and they could not be more perfectly matched for one another. Andrea grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta and they chose to get married in her hometown when they found the perfect venue for their wedding: Medalta Potteries.
This was our first time shooting at this heritage site and we could not have been more impressed with it as a wedding venue. The old brick, warehouse feel, and large courtyard made for the perfect backdrop for their diy wedding.
Andrea + Kane put sooo much work into making their wedding day uniquely them. From a wall weaved with string, moss for centerpieces, and the cutest cake table, everything was handmade and awesome! I was definitely in my happy place getting to photograph all the fun things they had created. Kane loves bow ties so all the groomsmen + dads included were given a colorful bow tie to wear on the day.
No one but the groom knew how to tie them so he was a busy guy making sure all the men looked good! Kane also wanted to make sure all the guests could get their swag on by providing everyone with colorful shades.
There were so many highlights from the day, but I think my favorite might be when Kane surprised Andrea by singing a medley of some of their favorite songs. She had no idea Kane had been planning this + her reaction was awesome, full of shock, laughter, and tears.
It was such a joy to watch two of the kindest souls get married in front of their closest family + friends. Andrea + Kane created a wedding event that was fun yet felt very intimate + personal. There were many happy tears shed (including a few from me) and much laughter throughout the night.
Mike and I left the wedding with tired bodies but big smiles on our faces + happy hearts. We felt so blessed to be a part of such a spectacular day!
Make sure you grab a nice warm beverage before taking a look through this one...there are a lot of images to enjoy :)
