What up blog world, this is Mike! We figured with me now being a part of the self employed club i should try out my blog writing skills. so here i am. Shari is a hard act to follow but i'm gonna try my best. You can expect slang, grammatical errors, words that aren't words and probably a run on sentence or two, but we aren't going to worry about that. A couple times a month you and i are gonna have a blog party and the first one is right now. i know you're psyched. Grab your beverage of choice, a comfy seat (don't sit to close to the screen though, i don't want to be the cause of damaged vision) and enjoy as i lose my blog writing virginity...questionable start... So we thought what better first blog for me to do than one about the rad 30th B-Day jam my wife threw. She is absolutely the best......she made homemade ice cream sammies for the party.....seriously! If you haven't seen this happy birthday blog post she did for me go check it out, UNREAL! It's also a good way to get to know who this new dude crashing the blog is.

Well let's get on with it. May 25 was a HUGE day for me...like MASSIVE! "Why?" you ask, let me tell you:

1 /// It was my 30th Birthday, yup, no longer got a 2 in front. The page has turned and i gotta say, so far Me + 30 = Awesome! I mean, what's the big deal? It's just a couple of digits and besides, 30's the new 20 right???

2 /// It was my last day as a full-time employee at Optimum Studios and therefore my first day being self employed (although sometimes it feels like wife employed.......love you babe;) The thing is though, Optimum was actually really hard for me to leave. Such a rad group of dudes and fantastic place to work. If you ever need glasswork done hit em up! Missin you fellas already.

3 /// The biggest thing about the day though was being reminded how incredibly lucky and blessed i am to have the people in my life that i do. I was seriously blown away and may have even dropped a couple tears (only manly dudes cry) from all the love and support from friends and family. My friends are the THE BEST! I can't begin to convey how affected i was by all the words spoken, written, facebooked, tweeted, etc. I'm still rocked by it. People say you can tell a lot about someone by looking at the people in their lives...well then i guess i'm good to go! So this is just a small way to say thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! You have all made me a better person and i am eternally thankful to have had you in my life, be it for a day or 20 years. Here's to life, don't listen to the downers and Negative Nancy's, grab it and go for it!!

Most of all, Shari you are truly THE BEST. I love you so much and am incredibly stoked for our journey ahead. I wouldn't want to be on it with anyone else!
