Jamie + George
Every wedding is unique—and this Heritage Hall Vancouver Wedding is no exception. From the venue choice, to the personal tastes of the couple, to the traditions they follow, or the new ones they make.
Every couple is different + every story is different. The more weddings we photograph, the more we fall in love with the uniqueness of every one. Couples are embracing who they are + making their weddings less about the 'traditions' + more about them. Less we are seeing the cookie cutter wedding + this is a trend we are loving. Jamie + George forged their own path when planning their wedding: "Our theme was very East-Vancouver, and very us. Mechanic-meets-webdesigner-meets-city-meets-metal-meets-grunge-meets-winter-meets-elegance. Trashy elegance."
They pretty much did everything themselves + the outcome fit the theme to perfection. Jamie + George got ready together in the morning before heading out for portraits. It rained some but not enough to keep us from doing photos outside. These two were a dream to photograph. Their hairstyles, incredible attire, and their comfort with each other + our cameras all attributed to some of our favorite portraits taken last year.
Jamie + George had their official ceremony at a tattoo studio in Gastown. It holds the record for the fastest ever with vows, the kiss, + the signing all happening in under 3 minutes. Immediately following their super fast ceremony, Jamie + George got 'til death' tattooed on the inside of their ring finger.
This was their take on the exchanging of rings. 80 of their closest family + friends were waiting at the venue for their Heritage Hall Vancouver Wedding. They had a hand fastening ceremony before a night of dancing, photobooth fun + consuming really delicious food. Chef Mike, a family friend, and Chef Ben run a super-secret dining experience called La Chiesa and offered their talents for Jamie + George's wedding.
Handmade fennel sausages over baked beans, mini Poutine, Caesar salad that you could eat with your hands, served in cardboard carnival food containers were what the guests got to enjoy.
"We really just wanted to celebrate, dance, eat, and drink with all of the friends and family who had supported, loved, and nourished us to this point. So the wedding, although it was a public declaration of our commitment to each other, was really a huge thank you party to our loved ones. We wanted it to say "THANKS for bringing us to this point in our lives, now let's CELEBRATE!!!" and celebrate we did."
Jamie + George were our last wedding of 2013 + I couldn't imagine a better way to wrap up our incredible season.
