Iceland Elopement

One day before their 10-year anniversary, Helen and Clem finally said, “I do” in a breathtakingly beautiful Iceland elopement. They got engaged in Japan, so it just made sense to elope to another incredible destination to get married. Not to mention this meant no major planning or fuss, which is always a huge bonus! Just the two of them, a bucket-list location, stunning views, and starting the next chapter of their lives in a way that was entirely true to them.  

The bride wore an ivory-pleated A-line with a long-sleeved lace overlay dress—so timeless and romantic—with burgundy heels to add a fun pop of color. The groom was modern and trendy in a dark blue polka-dotted dress shirt (how cool is that!!!) complete with a bowtie. Together, we think they were the epitome of cool and relaxed while still looking formal and wedding-day ready. 

Helen’s bouquet was gorgeous, with subtle shades of dusty rose, burgundy, and muted greens. For their Iceland elopement, the two of them exchanged the official vows at the registry, but the kicker? They forgot the rings!! It worked out though because they were then able to do their ring exchange before a gorgeous backdrop overlooking a sublime moss and rock landscape with a waterfall. The scenery of Iceland, of course, made for some seriously epic photos mixed in with just the right amount of romance and mystery.

With the views that Iceland offers—from black sand beaches to rolling mountains to stunning waterfalls—there was no shortage of stunning backdrops for their Iceland elopement and Helen and Clem had a good time surrounded by all that beauty!

When Mike was trying to capture a great shot of Helen and Clem, little Auggie jumped on his back to help and made everybody laugh! The day, complete with a 10:00 pm hike to a waterfall, couldn’t have been more perfect. A couple celebrating their first decade together by eloping to a location so incredible that it makes you wonder how a place so majestic can even exist on Earth. 

We felt so privileged to go on this adventure with Helen and Clem, to share in their love story and capture these timeless memories for them. We hope you enjoy sharing it here with us as well.
