30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography
Every year Rangefinder, an award winning photography magazine, goes on a search to discover the 30 rising stars in wedding photography. In order to even be considered you have to be nominated by an industry expert, which in itself is such an honor.
When we got an email from Rangefinder saying that we had been nominated we were in utter shock. This wasn't even on our radar + we felt so honored that someone would think our work was good enough to be nominated. There are so many talented individuals who are consistently putting out phenomenal images + it was hard to imagine that our work would be considered along side some of those people. We had to submit a body of work along with some information regarding how we approach wedding photography. And then we waited. It was probably a good thing this all happened during our busy wedding season as it was the furthest thing from our mind. I remember getting the email. All I read was "Congratulations Shari + Mike". In that moment I didn't know if I should scream or cry but I did run to our bed where Mike was still sleeping. "Babe, babe, babe, wake up! We won!" Our world was rocked in that moment + for many days following our hearts were bursting with excitement. It still is.
Our desire with sharing these stories is never to brag. Our desire is that you may read some of our successes + know that you to can believe for big things to happen in your life. To never stop pushing or dreaming. To go after the things that inspire you + work hard to build the life you have always dreamed of. We are just two people from the prairies who believed that life was meant to be lived to the fullest. And that's what we have been doing for the past few years + we are now just seeing the fruits of the risks that we have taken + the hours of work we have put into being the best at the gift we have been given. We hope we inspire you to believe that you can to.
