This year I got to travel to LA to photograph an editorial shoot for my friend Hanne. She is one of the founders of an incredible non profit organization called Passport 2 Freedom that is raising financial aid for a safe-home for kids living in Favela – the slums of Brazil. Hanne is a beautiful, generous person who has a real passion for those in need. After seeing the slums firsthand she knew that she needed to do something and out of that desire, Passport 2 Freedom was birthed. Rather than just having people donate money, Hanne + her team designed a few items of clothing to sell online. 100% of the profit goes to the cause! Check out their website to find out more details.

The trip to LA was a short one…I literally flew in, did the shoot, and flew back to Vancouver the next morning. Hanne was an organized lady for this shoot. She had every outfit planned out, already picked all the locations for each look + lined up an incredible team of ladies to make it all happen. Danielle + Saori were the beautiful faces that I had the privilege of photographing. Working with these ladies who are use to being behind the camera was a new experience for me…although EXTREMELY nervous at first to work with professionals, as soon as I took my first shot (which is also the first image you see) I was able to settle right in and do my thing. Hanne was also able to convince her husband Sierra to model the mens shirt…although I am sure he would have preferred to play video games with the other guys, he was a good sport + helped us out! Loli from Makeup city was the woman behind all the hair + makeup. I was so thankful I got to meet Loli…not only is she amazing at what she does but she has the biggest most beautiful heart. It truly was an honor to work with this group of ladies (and Sierra).

Editorial work is something I have always had an interest in but have not yet had the opportunity to explore. It was nice to step out of the wedding world for a day + try something new. Here is the outcome…
