June was not a great month for outdoor weddings on the west coast. Out of our four weddings, three had to change their outdoor plans due to rain. Jenny + Ali were one of those couples. They had planned to have their ceremony on a dock but were forced to move it inside the reception tent at the last minute as the rain would not let up. Although it wasn’t what they had envisioned, Jenny + Ali were in the best of spirits + didn’t let a little rain ruin their day. We even got a small window after the ceremony were the rain let up momentarily so we could get a few photos outside. That made for very happy photographers :)

Mike and I loved being a part of Jenny + Ali’s wedding. As Jenny is from Medicine Hat, it was great to see a few familiar faces among the guests. Jenny put so many hours into making their day perfect. It was a mix of elegance + glam with a few fun diy elements. The bridesmaid dresses were gold sequin + Jenny had two wedding dresses for the big occasion…both of which were stunning! What girl wouldn’t love to have two dresses? Mike and I love to capture (and in Mike’s case participate in) a good dance party and this one was next level! The DJ was spinning a mix of classic 90′s party jams and Persian electronic dance tracks which made for a packed dance floor all night. The bride + groom were crowd surfed on chairs, dance battles were happening and the Dougie even made an appearance! Although I was tired, I didn’t ever want to leave!

Jenny + Ali planned a perfect wedding. It was beautiful, emotional, and a whole lot of fun! It was so great to work with our friends Angela + Domi from Photobooth Vancouver + wedding planner Simply by Tamara Nicole.
