Shari + Mike Photographers

With Thanksgiving just behind us, I did a lot of reflecting on all the things I am thankful for. My list seemed much longer this year than usual. That could be because I have three new nieces + nephews, or that this year has been full of much blessing + new beginnings for Mike and I. All I know is that I have so much to be thankful for. One of the things on my list was for clients like Genevieve + Joel. These two are incredible people. They are a creative force with so much heart + passion for what they do. Genevieve is a friend and fellow photographer who does such amazing work. Simply put, she inspires me. Through this process Joel has become a friend also. I am convinced that if we lived closer, the four of us would spend a lot of time together…that’s why we are all looking forward to spending a few days in Vegas together for the WPPI Conference!

Genevieve + Joel put so much work into making their day special for the people they love the most. I think my favorite part was how small and intimate the wedding was. Genevieve + her amazing mama, along with the helping hands of friends and family, pulled off a wedding full of beautiful details + handmade decor. Everything was just so lovely and very much Genevieve. The ceremony took place under a large beautiful tree in Henderson Lake Park. The sun was shining and the wind was minimal, which was a miracle for Lethbridge. The reception was held in Genevieve’s grandparents backyard and the decor was elegant yet simple. Chandeliers were hung among the trees and gorgeous antique furniture was used throughout the yard. Three long tables were lined with vases of all sizes filled with hand picked wild flowers. I loved that every centerpiece was different from the next. Genny also made her own bouquet which was as nice as most done professionally :) I could make a very long list of all the aspects of this wedding that I loved. It was that incredible.

Thank you Genevieve + Joel for being such quality people + for asking us to be a part of your day. And thanks to Genevieve’s mom, Lilly for not only being the mother of the bride but also the woman behind all the lovely decor. You’re the best!
