I know I should be packing + preparing for our 3 week adventure to Vietnam that starts tomorrow but instead I am blogging. Some may call me crazy but I just really wanted to share with you our most recent engagement session with Helena + Anthony. We were introduced to these two by the fabulous ladies over at Filosophi Events + we fell in love with them at our initial meeting. We could tell they were fun, laid back, and we loved how easy conversation flowed about life + of course, wedding planning. We met up with Helena + Anthony on one of the nicest days in February…the sun finally decided to show up and we had such a fun afternoon hanging out with these two. One thing they both enjoy is a good glass of scotch so we thought it would be fun to do some inside The Morrissey Pub before making the long journey down to Wreck Beach. Wreck Beach is most known for its “clothes not necessary” policy but I really think it should be known for it’s beauty + the ridiculous long stairs to get there :)

We cannot say enough great things about Helena + Anthony + are looking forward to hanging out with them again this June for their wedding. Enjoy a few of our favorite images from their shoot.

now back to packing…wish me luck.

Let me introduce you to Michael + Tina.

We first met Michael at Kyla + Anthony’s Hycroft Wedding last summer. He is the man behind Man About Town Entertainment. One of our favorite parts about working in the wedding industry in Vancouver is getting to meet + work with some really rad vendors…Michael is definitely on that list. He contacted us a few months ago as he was on the search for a photographer for his own wedding that will be happening this August at Swaneset Bay Resort. We got to meet his lovely lady Tina at our initial consult and I instantly fell in love with her. We chatted about life, school, and of course wedding over a cup of coffee + she even shared a picture of the beautiful gown she will wear on her wedding day! Michael is going to cry like a baby :) Michael + Tina chose Whistler as the location for their engagement session. Michael grew up spending most weekends at this magical place + it was a perfect spot to capture these two. We started at the beautiful Nita Lake Lodge before heading out to have some fun in the snow with their dog Indy. Besides being soaked + unable to feel my toes from shooting in the knee deep wet snow, the afternoon spent with these two was so much fun! Michael + Tina can go from being romantic to showing their fun side so easily which brought much laughter throughout the day. Looking forward to documenting their wedding this summer.

Hello from Las Vegas! We have had a fantastic time away so far, touring around the desert and seeing some amazing places. We even got to do a shoot in Joshua Tree with some of our dear friends. Can’t wait to show you! We arrived in Vegas yesterday and I will enjoy the weekend with my sisters and mom celebrating her 60th birthday!

Although we are away we still wanted to blog some favorite images from a recent engagement shoot with Fei and Jeremy. Due to rain their engagement session needed to be resheduled several times but we eventually got a perfect overcast day with no rain. It was a miracle. Fei and Jeremy will be getting married in May and we are looking forward to documenting their amazing day!

Happy Friday everyone. I’m not sure what the rest of the world looks like today but Vancouver is very wet. I feel like it’s been raining forever. If the weather guys are correct, mr.sun is suppose to come visit tomorrow. This makes me very happy…and so do Danielle + Evan. This amazing couple will be getting married in June at the new barn wedding venue at Kirkland House. They have so many great ideas + sure did pick a beautiful place to get married! We cannot wait to be a part of their day.

I love the Canadian Rockies. One of the most beautiful places on the planet, in my opinion, of course. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to shoot their a handful of times + was excited when Brittany + Tarek chose the amazing Canmore as the location for their engagement session. It had come down to two options for locations: the snowy, majestic mountains (where they got engaged) or Medicine Hat (where they will get married this summer). Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Medicine Hat but when it’s up against the Rockies, Brittany + Tarek had an easy choice. I am so glad that it worked out to meet them in Canmore on our way back to Vancouver after our Christmas holiday. The day we did the shoot was gorgeous + the snow and mountain backdrop could not have been more magical. Brittany + Tarek were such good sports + put up with the cold to ensure they got the best photos. I was reminded of how brave prairie folk are when it comes to cold weather + discovered how much of a wuss I have become living on the west coast. The temperature drops below zero + my body can no longer function. I will admit there were many breaks taken in our car to thaw out frozen fingers + toes. Despite the cold, this session has to be one of my favorites. Brittany + Tarek are beautiful people inside + out.
