I love how photography has brought so many amazing people into our lives. Whether it’s the couples that we work with or the fabulous vendors in our city or all the talented photographers who inspire us…meeting new people + building friendships is something we cherish. It was through a fellow photographer + friend that I first met Blair. She approached me during a photography conference in Vegas to introduced herself + since that moment we have been friends. Blair is one of the most encouraging, kind souls around, who loves big, and laughs often. She is one of those people that you love to be around…and her man is just as awesome as she is :) Hanging out with both Blair + Mike is always a treat and usually involves lots of laughter + good conversation. They are both entrepreneurs like us…Blair is an incredible photographer + Mike is a food enthusiast who just started his own urban farm called Seed + Soil. What a talented duo. Blair + Mike are absolutely perfect for each other + we are so excited to document their amazing wedding next year on a lake in Alberta. We love these two oh so very much :)

Two of our most favorite things are photography + travel. Pair those two together and you have one of our biggest dreams for our business. So when we got an email from Paige asking if we were available to travel to Mexico for her wedding, I guess you can say we took one step closer to our dream. We have been to Mexico a handful of times but always for vacation not for work. So this was different for us. We arrived to the beautiful Azul Beach Resort just outside of Cancun on Saturday night, shot the wedding on Monday + flew home on Wednesday…it was a quick trip but totally worth all the travel time!
Paige + Brent are kind, light hearted, genuine, and just simply awesome! We love these two + it was such an honor getting to document their wedding…a wedding that just so happened to be on a beautiful white sand beach, with the ocean as their backdrop, and their closest family + friends surrounding them. It was perfect.

Today we are off again on another roadtrip to Alberta…this is the first of two trips we will do this month! This time we are heading north to Edmonton for Matthew + Carmen’s wedding! We are excited to connect again with these two + get to meet their amazing families. It’s going to be an incredible few days!

Michelle + Daniel got married at the beginning of May on a beautiful sunny day. We met up with them as they were exiting the temple from their ceremony + then spent the afternoon taking photos of just the two of them! It was a different wedding for us in the aspect that we did not see them until after they were married which meant no getting ready or ceremony photos. They also decided to not have a wedding party so we were able to focus our attention on getting beautiful portraits of just the two of them. It was amazing! Green was the theme of the day in honor of Daniel’s Irish heritage. All the nieces + nephews wore the color of the day + even the cake was green. The more time we spend with Michelle + Daniel the more we love them. They are two of the kindest souls who value family, love, and enjoying the simple things in life. We are so blessed to know them.

Happy Monday everyone! This weekend we celebrated another birthday but this time it was for my amazing husband. It worked out perfectly that the last weekend we had off until the end of September just so happened to also be Mike’s birthday. We had a lot of fun playing in a volleyball tournament (which we won, by the way), hanging with friends + finishing it off with some yummy Marble Slab! It was a perfect way to spend our last weekend off :)

Meet Suzy + Trevor. These two beautiful people will be having an intimate wedding in the mountains in September and we can hardly wait for a trip to Fernie! We met up with them near their hometown the last time we were back to Alberta to do their engagement session. Suzy + Trevor love the outdoors + the park they chose was absolutely perfect. I loved watching these two interact + especially loved whenever they would make each other laugh…which happened quite often :) I am so happy that these two found each other + so honored to be a part of documenting one of the most important days of their lives!

May has been a whirlwind. It’s been one of those months when you look at your calendar + it says May 22nd and you wonder where the month has gone. I blame it on turning 30 :) These past 22 days have been busy but a whole lot of fun. Birthday celebrations, Mexico, four weddings, and a quick trip home…it has been a jam packed few weeks + there are no signs of life slowing down anytime soon! Hello wedding season.

Last week while in Mexico we blogged the first part of Patricia + Victor’s engagement session…and now we bring to you part two. The day we had scheduled their shoot ended up being a strange day here in Vancouver. Sunny in the morning + then a random storm moved in that not only dumped rain but also hail. It seemed appropriate to cancel the session, but later regretted that when the clouds parted + the sun came out to play again. We contacted Victor + Patricia to see if it was too late to continue with the original plans. Thank goodness they were still open because it would have been a shame to miss out on this fabulous evening. Enjoy a few favorites from our time with these two + their dog Teddy.
