May has been a whirlwind. It’s been one of those months when you look at your calendar + it says May 22nd and you wonder where the month has gone. I blame it on turning 30 :) These past 22 days have been busy but a whole lot of fun. Birthday celebrations, Mexico, four weddings, and a quick trip home…it has been a jam packed few weeks + there are no signs of life slowing down anytime soon! Hello wedding season.

Last week while in Mexico we blogged the first part of Patricia + Victor’s engagement session…and now we bring to you part two. The day we had scheduled their shoot ended up being a strange day here in Vancouver. Sunny in the morning + then a random storm moved in that not only dumped rain but also hail. It seemed appropriate to cancel the session, but later regretted that when the clouds parted + the sun came out to play again. We contacted Victor + Patricia to see if it was too late to continue with the original plans. Thank goodness they were still open because it would have been a shame to miss out on this fabulous evening. Enjoy a few favorites from our time with these two + their dog Teddy.

For the past few days we have been in Mexico photographing Paige + Brent’s wedding. This was our first time shooting a beach destination wedding together and I must say that our few short days spent with Paige + Brent and their friends + family was so much fun + refreshing. Here is a sneak peek of their wedding…a whole lot more coming your way soon :)

Hello from Mexico.

We are currently in beautiful Mexico getting ready to photograph Paige and Brents wedding. It’s going to be an amazing day celebrating with Paige and Brent and their closest friends and family. Thankful for good weather + the most beautiful couple to photograph! I have shot a few destination weddings but this is our first time shooting one together. That makes me very happy :)

Before the wedding starts, we wanted to share a recent engagement session we did with Patricia + Victor. We loved getting to photograph these two in their home. It was a beautiful space, with amazing views of the city, and furniture to die for. Victor owns a store that sells mid century furniture so I knew their space would be straight out of a magazine…and it was! Thanks Patricia + Victor for having us in your home. It was a dream to photograph in!

Part Two of their engagement session is coming soon!

This week is birthday week…yes, I think when you turn 30 you deserve more than just one day of celebrations :) For the past few days, I have had my share of cakes, pies, ice cream to last me until I’m 40. They were all so delicious. Thanks to everyone who has sent me some birthday love…you sure do know how to make a girl feel incredible! Only four days in and already 30 has treated me well. Looking forward to all the adventures this new decade has for me :)

We are in full swing over here. Shot our 2nd wedding of the season on Friday + will be leaving to Mexico on the weekend for number 3. This also means we have been busy during the week photographing our amazing couples as they prepare for their wedding days! We met up with Ashley + Donny on a perfect evening in Steveston for their engagement session. These two know how to have a good time + I’m pretty sure I laughed the entire session thanks to Donny. They will be getting married in September + we are so excited to be a part of their day!

So it happened. I officially turned the big 30. As I sat on my bed last night and watched the clock enter into a new day, not gonna lie, I had a moment of panic…Oh my goodness I’m thirty. It is hard for me to imagine that my twenties can be topped but I am a big believer that our greatest days are always in front of us, not behind us. In my twenties, I graduated from college, met + married the love of my life, traveled to many parts of the world, started a business, moved to Vancouver, became an auntie 5 times, and met some amazing people that are still my dearest friends. So if my greatest days are yet to come, I cannot wait to see what the thirties have in store for me. Bring it on.
